Overview
What I do
I was thrilled to have the opportunity to work as a graphic design assistant/UX designer in the Communications Team at the Information Technology System (ITS) at ISU. I worked collaboratively and assisted my department's supervisors, focusing on WorkCyte and the launch of the new school’s business and technology system, Workday. I was in charge tin creating graphics for the Workcyte website and on-campus events.
I was assigned the task of designing engaging article thumbnails for Workday updates for on-campus incoming and current students and faculty.
WorkCyte news tiles
I updated the old thumbnails with the new ones and created new thumbnails for several upcoming articles on the WorkCyte website. This opportunity gave me a more in-depth understanding of design thinking and how to incorporate article content, the target audience, and my design decisions.
As the lead designer, it was my responsibility to pluck the essence of the content to represent as the ‘front row’ on the webpage by reading and watching the articles and videos.

ITS Quarterly Newsletter graphics
I developed a series of graphics for the Winter 2024 ITS Quarterly Newsletter. The update included key technology updates on the Workday rollout Phase III and other takeaways on CyBox, AI, and the digital accessibility project.

ITS swag flyers
Flyers I designed to promote our department’s stickers. The flyers were to be handed out at the ITS booth at orientation days for new students.

Techscape sticker
The Techscape sticker series is a project by our department to create a set of stickers featuring a hybrid shape of the campus buildings with a technology device.
This was a small, quick task I worked on. The shape that I chose was to combine the administrative building, Catt Hall, with a big speaker.

Newsletter graphics
The Workday project has newsletters called Workday Forecast and Workday Wednesdays. Besides doing minor copywriting tasks, I focused on creating the supporting graphics for both newsletters.
