Extension and Outreach

ISU Extension and Outreach is the key organization within the university’s land-grant mission to sustain engaged communities and provide resources in all 99 counties across the state of Iowa.

Overview

What I do

As a graphic designer, I did a 0 → 1 cycle from concept to stakeholders' shipment. I collaborated closely with the Communications Team, the key to ISU Extension and Outreach digital engagement.

My primary role involved creating scalable marketing materials and handling cross-functional duties, including stakeholder meetings, asset creation, internal file management, and streamlining communication between counties and official vendors, especially for county projects.

County Director conference agenda

Extension held a County Director Annual Conference on November 12th at the Memorial Union. I was assigned to create an editorial design for the event breakdown to be printed.

I created several iterations in InDesign and threaded the content to make it digitally accessible. I took this opportunity to apply what I have learned through the eAccessibility training sessions.

The Linn County Extension branch will hold the premiere of the new Seed Library. The client’s representative, Hailee, wanted our central office to create a wall vinyl for the opening event.

The wall mark will be placed on top of a drawer in the alcove, and the client wishes for it to indicate, inform, and promote what the Master Gardener program has done for the community, and to encourage visitors to take the same initiative to become part of the program.

Accessible event templates

As part of the eAccessible project Extension is undertaking to meet the Federal deadline to make all Extension materials accessible, I proposed some accessible event templates that use accessible Acrobat attributes.
